Africawatch is an independent pan-African magazine published in the United States, and remains one of the few publications reporting on political events as they unfold throughout the continent. It was founded in 2009, and is published every two months by General Media Strategies in New York City and reaches nearly 100,000 readers worldwide.
Africawatch is widely respected for its broad and outspoken coverage of the entire continent. By reporting from an African point of view, it offers a unique perspective that encompasses politics, business, economics, environment, health, entertainment, culture, sports and the Diaspora. Its journalists go behind the headlines and strive to reach people and topics that other magazines and newspapers rarely cover, allowing Africawatch readers to gain an enhanced understanding of current events in Africa.
Its readers include government officials, diplomats, business executives, scholars and academics, students, international volunteers, and the general reading public – anyone with a keen interest in African affairs.
